It has suitable corrosion resistance in various organic acids, inorganic acids, alkalis, salts and seawater. In reductive acidic medium, its corrosion resistance is much better than 304, and 316 stainless steel is also resistant to Marine and corrosive industrial atmosphere. In discontinuous use below 1600 degrees and in continuous use below 1700 degrees, 316 stainless steel has good oxidation resistance.
